Whatever happened to the America I love and grew up in? America is changing and I don't believe for the better. This new blog will be a place where I can express my opinions, rant and rave and question what is happening in our country today.
What has inspired me to start a new blog? Well quite frankly it is OBAMACARE. The health care legislation passed the U.S. House of Representatives last night, Sunday, March 20, 2010. IT WILL be signed into law tomorrow by the President and what's left for us to do? Well many things I hope.
Repeal the law? That is a possibility but it is difficult and would take a long time, as well as a major shift in both houses of Congress to pull that off. It would require a 2/3 majority of both the Senate and House of Representatives in order to override a Presidential Veto. I'm not saying it can't be done, but at this time, I think it is a long shot.
So, how do we as Americans let our objections be known?
- GET INVOLVED!
- Contribute to Political Action Committees (PACs) that reflect your ideas & ideals.
- Call your Congressmen & Senators and let your voice be heard.
- Talk to your family, friends and anyone who will listen to you.
- Educate yourself on the contents of this 2,700 page bill (law)
- Become an Advocate in opposition to what this new law and what America may become if we let it.
- Be honest, truthful, and passionate, learn how to voice your opinions in an effective manner.
- Register to vote and vote in your local and national elections in November 2010.
I am not a paid political operative. I have no political ambitions whatsoever. I am just a fairly typical American who is happily married with children and grandchildren. I work, go to church every Sunday and I worry that we will be leaving a legacy to my children and grandchildren who will be paying for this in future generations.
